The SOL Foundation was founded by Melanie L. Norfleet in 2012 and established as a 501c3 in 2017.  The Spreading Our Love concept ​was established 7 years ago, after Melanie observed the number of students in inner city schools who were going through the winter months without appropriate warm wear.  SOL's goal is to provide students in the St. Louis community with coats, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and boots, as well as other necessities. 

Meet our Board

Our board is unique, sharing the same compassion for over 30 years.  We devote our time and special skills to create positive change in children and our communities.

​Melanie Norfleet, MBA

CEO/Founde​r/President

​Melanie Norfleet is a St. Louis native who is dedica​ted ​to many jobs. Melanie works in Government & Capital Property Management at the Boeing Company located in St. Louis, Missouri.  Melanie received her BS in Business, with an emphasis in Communications from the University of Missouri St. Louis.  Melanie continued her education, earning an MBA in Business Management at the Lindenwood University of St. Charles Missouri. 

Sandra Stepney, MBA

Financial Officer

Sandra Stepney, born and raised in North St. Louis, shares a strong desire to help the less fortunate in her community.  Sandra is a Lead Manager with an independent federal agency.  Sandra holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Missouri Baptist University and an MBA in Human Resources from Keller Graduate School of Management.  




Jacqueline Lanier Ritchie

Administrator

Jacqueline Lanier Ritchie is a St. Louis native.  Jacqueline is currently employed at a pharmaceutical company as a Pharmacy Technician.  Jacqueline received a certificate of completion in Medical Billing and Coding from Forest Park Community College.  Jacqueline is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, AmeriCorps Alumni, and American Health Information Management Association.  

Angela Walker

Event Coordinator

Angela Walker is a St. Louis native.  Angela has always had a passion for helping people.  Angela currently works with senior citizens in Nursing Homes.  She travels to and from different nursing facilities throughout the St. Louis area, assuring that the facilities are tended properly.  Angela's second passion is coordinating and planning events.  Angela makes sure SOL's events are well organized and running smoothly
